My name is Nathan Oldfield and I have been involved with computers and technology since 1992.  In 1996 I started Cybercomp Services helping small businesses and home users manage their computers. I specialise in helping home business and small business owners use technology appropriately within their business.

I have seen countless instances where people have paid a lot of money for not much service from IT Support providers.  Not just for general IT support but website design, web hosting, photocopiers, telephony and other technology related services.  It’s never nice explaining to someone that they have wasted thousands of dollars or their computer systems are not set up properly, or in a lot of cases both! Generally speaking people could have avoided wasting money and/or time if they had some basic education, the problem is there is nothing around that fills this gap, that I have seen.

There are plenty of courses on how to use Windows or a particular software application such as Microsoft Word, but nothing about using technology in your business and the rules and best practices that should be followed. Don’t get me wrong there are some great IT service providers that can provide this service but my experience tells me that small business owners can’t afford to be paying $130+ per hour for someone to come in and educate them.

So Your IT Coach is born! Sign up to the mailing list and join the team so you don’t miss out…

My aim for this site is to provide relevant information by way of blog posts including some video/audio as well.  If you are a small business owner or home computer user then I hope you will find this site useful.

Why am I doing this?  Who pays? I have created this site as I am tired of seeing people being ripped off unnecessarily . I hope to provide enough knowledge to empower you to understand what your technology is doing in your business and to be able to discuss your requirements with your IT service provider. Yes this site is free, yes I have regular expenses like everyone else. Running a this site costs both time and money.  Some of the links on this site may be affiliate links, that means that if you buy a product or service by following those links I will get a small percentage or commission from the provider in return for the referral.  It costs you no extra to use the link and if you find my site useful it would be great if you could use those links.  I will only recommend something that I genuinely believe in and in most cases use, or have used.

Your IT Coach will also be running workshops tailored specifically to the small business owner, I have a couple of plans  in the pipeline for these.  Please like our page on Facebook, follow on Twitter or simply join the mailing list to stay up to date. I hope you enjoy this site and if you do please share it with your friends and colleagues. Please ensure you read the disclaimer page, this is very important!
